The Chicken (aka Hyperion Slab)
About The Chicken (aka Hyperion Slab):
The Chicken (Hyperion Slab) is the first rock formation encountered on the approach to Texas Canyon and by far the largest. The Chicken (Hyperion Slab) is easily distinguishable by the large caves easily visible on its east face, from the trail, and the massive slabby south face. The majority of climbs at Texas Canyon are located on the south and west faces. The Pangea Wall lies on its north face. Its west side forms the east wall of the canyon. The formation is about 200 ft. high. |
