The Egg
About The Egg:
The Egg is the prominent mace-shaped formation located west of The Chicken (aka Hyperion Slab) at the south entrance to the canyon. The Egg is ~ 120 feet in height (about 80 ft on the uphill side). There are routes on the nice rounded buttress on the south side (The Egg Cup), as well as, a route on each of the west and northeast faces. The rock is sandstone conglomerate, which tends to be chossy. All routes are bolted. |
