Drive north on the 101 from arcata. You will pass the trees of mysteries which is close to the Klamath. After the trees of mysteries, you will then go over the wilson bridge. Park by the mile mark of 13.44. close to the vista point on the west side of the 101 (the vista point is also a good place to park, however for the purpose of finding the trail head park near that mile marker). There will be a lousy looking trail that leads in the direction of the footsteps rocks. I hear a lot of complaints with the bush wacking, but I didnt have a problem. Its about a 1/2 mile hike downhill but the footsteps rocks should always be in view. Watch out for stinging nettle (even though their sting seems somewhat soothing!). |
