Description:

im sure this isnt the first ascent of this problem basically its a variation of the hinge problem left of the stairs to the beach... so start where in the crack and where you would start hinge and instead of going left on hinge move right via good pinches/ crimps from this point find sandy edges for your feat and make a full extension/dyno to the high rail up and left and finish on hinge. pads not nessessary however there is a rock buried under the sand that you could roll your ankle on if you miss the dyno

5 out of 5 stars my kind of beach day

attempted.. along with many variations within reach. the sand covered rock made me a little nervous to make the committing moves near the top

3 out of 5 stars Not a new route.

This route is called C.F.'s Edge Crank and was done long ago by Craig Fry. I first did it back in '99.

It's in the Southern California Bouldering Guide.

4 out of 5 stars Not a Hinge var.

This is a face climb 3 or 4' right of the hinge problem. The Hinge and it's variations stick close to the arete. While you do start in the same place, you move right immediately.
