About Magnolia Boulders:

*** THIS AREA MAY BE CLOSED ***
IT IS ON PRIVATE LAND AND NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS HAVE BEEN POSTED.

"Magnolia is a large hillside covered with 70 or more boulders. In the 1970's and 80's, the area served as an alternative to Santee Boulders. The Great Western Bouldering Championship was held here in 1982. In the mid 1990's, access became questionable when a residential development began at it's base. With the building now completed, it appears that access is still available, although a bit more walking is required. Please note that with the new housing development in place, access is different than described in the Craig Fry guide, and orientation of his topos may be a bit different also. Magnolia is on private land, and parking is on a residential street (houses on one side only), so be polite and respectful when visiting this area."

Nearest town or city: Santee
Directions: In Santee, take Magnolia Ave. north almost to it's end and turn right on Princess Joann St. After about 3 blocks this street ends. Park on the hill side of the street (no houses) and head up the hill. Trails are spotty, bushwacking is the norm- There may be some easier hikes to the top further back down the road from where it ends.
