About Mt Everest:

Mt Everest is really just a section of the Mt Woodson area. It is the hillside across Highway 67 southeast of the main Woodson hill. It has a rather diverse history, with glued on holds on one large rock, C4 bold aid climbs on the next rock, and sandbag free crack climbs on yet other rocks. Some poison oak exists low down but it can be avoided with care.
Nearest town or city: Poway
Directions: There is a large dirt pullout, off of route 67 northbound, that is right under Mt. Everest. Be sure to find the real trail up the hill. There are a couple of sucker trails that will leave you thrashing in the deep brush. The real trail starts as a tunnel, and is pretty wide.
