The Green Monster
About The Green Monster:
For a rugged adventure, try taking an extended day trip to the Green Monster, the vegetated 129 foot cliff easily visible over a thousand feet below from the top of California Ridge. Start at the dry stream bed at the base of Underworld Rock and follow a steep trail a mile down valley until you come to a broad expanse of sculpted sandstone bedrock covered with ferns and watered by natral springs. From here, turn left and proceed another quarter mile uphill until you collide with...The Green Monster. There are a number of other mysterious climbs here too, further downstream on a gaint flat topped formations known as the Heliport, Despite many new obvious lines to bag, the 1400 foot hike out is certain to limit the populartity of this beutifull isolated valley. Beware Mt.lions do inhabit this remote region.
