About Roadside Crag:

By no means a destination crag, this tiny 30 foot outcrop is very convenient and makes for a nice stop either on the way to, or returning from, the Kern Area. It is 100 feet off the road and there is a nice pullout on both sides of the road. Bolted anchors make it ideal for top roping, but the cracks are fun to lead. The rock is solid. It is what it is. Heading east from Bakersfield, after you pass the sign that tells you how many deaths there have been in the river (224 as of 4-06!! Be very careful! This is tragic!), go about 3 miles and look south. Use the photo as a guide. You can't miss it.
