Balloon Dome
About Balloon Dome:
This dome, located at just under 7000', was described by William Brewer in 1864 as looking like "the top of a gigantic balloon struggling to get up through the rock." The dome can be reached by dirt road and trail from the Clover Meadow Ranger Station. Another route to the dome begins on the other side of the canyon by Lake Edison. While reportedly a better access, the correct roads are hard to find and they are often washed out. |
