Description:

3 pitches on the East Face. P1: Starting a couple hundred feet below the Magician/Djinn col, go up easy flakes to the fir tree growing on a ledge. P2: Get back into the flakes (a bit harder now) and work up and right to another decent ledge, right of and even with the big overhang. P3: Go up and traverse left below the second overhang until you can break out above it (5.7+). Go back right (bring a long runner!) and up cracks through the headwall. P4: Walk over to the west side of the summit cap and finish on the last pitch of Magic Dragon on the West Face to reach the lookout and/or the rappel.

Great in the afternoon when in the shade. Cool to finish the day atop the Magician with superb views of the other Needles.
