About New Directions Cliff:
Nice Granite climbs to the right of Heart Rock. Has moderate to difficult level climbs of which most are slab mixed with a few crack climbs. The slab routes are bolted and the crack climbs require pro. Lengths vary up to 150'. Descent: Usually routes rappel although it is possible to top off some routes and hike down a gully left of Heart Rock. A second rope helps the rappel on longer routes. |
Approach: | Park near 35.82244N and -118.46024W or the parking lot with a large tree in the middle. Just south a nice trail starts next to an electrical poll and climbs to the cliff. Please stay on the trail marked by stacked rocks. When the trail meets the cliff under some trees, continue left for Heart Rock and Right for New Directions Cliff. |
