About Angel Wings:

The south face is an awesome wall about 1800' high with 2 major sections: the main wall and a prominent arete to its right leading to a separate summit. Getting there is an epic: 16 miles from Crescent Meadow with some serious up and down, and can be quite an effort w/ backcountry gear plus wall racks. One can expect the occassional break in the hike to yield right-of-way to any of the local bears.
