About Seven Gables Peak:

This peak is an isolated peak that dominates its surroundings within the John Muir Wilderness. This peak has stimulating class four routes and some wall routes have been done on its east face. Very little information is available on the class 5 routes but the views are great and the rock is very solid. The elevation of Seven Gables, at 13,075 ft. makes it a great, backcountry, alpine experience. There are numerous lesser peaks, cliffs, and boulders in this area with a lifetime of FA possibilities.
Nearest town or city: Fresno
Directions: Take Hwy 168 from Fresno to Huntington Lake. Turn right on the Kaiser pass road and about 1/2 mile past the hot springs retreat turn right onto Bear Diversion Dam Rd. A vehicle with good clearance is needed for this rough dirt road. Two miles later, this road ends at Bear Diversion dam and you start hiking on the Bear Ck. trail. Follow this for 15 miles to a fork in the trail. The right fork leads you to Selden Pass and the west face of Seven Gables. The left fork leads up to the Seven Gables Lakes and the eastern escarpment.
