About Murphy Creek:
A great place for out-of-the-way recreational climbing: sweeping views and beautiful polished granite. The Murphy Creek area divides neatly into three cliff bands, a lower 80-foot wall where there are around 10 to 15 traditional crack routes (Auto Bond 5.11b, Mandric 5.10b, Penguin Cafe 5.11a, Pince A Loaf 5.11a, etc.) for top-roping and leading, a second tier just above and behind the first where the "Locktight" crack is located (5.10b), and finally, at the top of the ridge, a third summit tier where you can find a nasty OW and the beautiful "Coyote's Carelessness" (5.10a).
