Description:
A less crowded alternative to the regular NW face. Hauling is easier and the bivy ledges are better. It's harder though, and the quality of the rock isn't nearly as good. A more wall-like atmoshphere and view of the main face are rewards. It wasn't hard to do clean with lots of hooks. C3?

Nice alpine feel
We went light and did this route with one bivy on the wall (using one pad and two bivy bags--no sleeping bags). This has a much different feel from El Cap routes--very alpine. The rock isn't the best--watch out while belaying! Our rope got a big goby after a rock fell on it right beside me. Definitely don't need a hammer.
