Description:

Start in the third class gully just off the trail. Meanders, use lots of slings. Great for bringing newbies up or Soloing, no exposure, nice top out. This climb is not truly obvious, because there are several gullies in the area. This is the third gully from the left (falls). It is cleaner than the previous two. Climb this gully then go left onto the face when you reach a large chimney. Top out, exposed walk off to the climbers right.

3 out of 5 stars Been there done that.

We started early in the morning. Terri led P1, and I led the rest. Dave and Stan were leading the way. Liked the traverse and the 5.5 variation. The rest was kind of boring. The descend was really long and definitely not worth it if climbing this route. But it a good warm up for the day.

4 out of 5 stars Good time

This is a relatively straight forward climb and was good practice for me as a new leader. The 5.5 variance and the traverse are the only truly interesting climbing parts but there is a lot of drag resulting from that. Hiked all the way up to fern ledge afterwards - harder hike than the climb itself. The walk off is both long and on loose footing at times over a drop off - make sure your parters are sure footed. Often times you are out of voice range.

3 out of 5 stars Regular route solo

Easy solo mostly in a gully. Did the 5.5 variation (only about 10 -15 feet long)

3 out of 5 stars Great descent

Hate these early fall/winter nights, bring a headlamp if you start as late as us. Nothing to write home about, but gains some altitude in the Valley.

3 out of 5 stars OK climb

Not much of a climb as most is scrambling. But excellent swimming hole at top of lower falls made the trip worth it.
