About Castlewood Canyon:

25 Million year old conglomerate rock lines the east and west rims of Castlewood Canyon and presents climbers with an interesting and fun challenge. Excellent diversity of routes ranging from 20'-50' high and relatively unknown status make this one of Colorado's best kept secrets. Costs $5 (as of 29 Jun 02) for entry and there is no camping or fires allowed in the park. Watch out for rattlesnakes.
Nearest town or city: Franktown
Directions: Take I-25 south from Denver to Exit 182 at Castle Rock. Head east on CO 86 for 6 miles to Franktown. Turn south on Castlewood Canyon road 1/4 mile before Franktown. Follow to park entrance.
