Description:

A worthwhile route on the lower part of Higher Wire, or "Left Wire" in Mabe's guidebook. Much better (and steeper!) than it looks from the ground. Counting from the right, this is the 1st route on the wall. Start just uphill of Night Stick at some broken ledges just left of a prominent corner, near a dead tree. Scramble up to the first clip, then work up a vertical face and mostly big holds. The route wanders from side to side a bit. The angle gradually steepens, and the crux comes at the last bolt, on overhanging, pumpy climbing. Moving right here is a little easier than climbing directly past the bolts.

4 out of 5 stars Felt Easy?

Pretty chillaxed. Even the supposed crux is pretty obvious first go. Crimp 'n' jam. Great holds, great rock, fun body positions and steady climbing. Highly recommended.

3 out of 5 stars Hmm,

Felt like it got going pretty early on, just more so at the top.

4 out of 5 stars Good route

Good moderate on unique rock for the area. Pretty easy climbing until the crux 3/4 through the route.

3 out of 5 stars Fun, but...

... doesn't really get going until the last 15 feet.
