Description: Very good climbing in the winter, lots of sun exposure for most of the day. Most of the routes here are great with a few being a little chossy but otherwise very sound. A few routes are a little run-out and can be protected better with Traditional protection in-between the bolts. There is about 10 routes here with most being right around mid-range 5.10 and one test piece slab 5.12 that is very insecure and smeary. Perfect for a day of winter time cragging if your up for a few “spicy” run-outs. Directions: 3.2 miles from tunnel one and the The Sports Wall is a pullout just before reaching the bridge, park here. Walk across the highway and to the cliff band where it meets the bridge. Climb up and over the concrete abutment and step down to the ledge, Now look up in the shallow slabby dihedral…that is what you have to climb to get to the base of the Red Slab. It is a little sketchy to get up with a heavy pack but is not to hard, Just don’t wear sandals and you will be fine. Follow the climbers trail up and to the left and it will deposit you at the foot of Snakes For Snakes, Find your desired route from here. Routes are ordered from left to right on this page. |
