Description: The New River Wall is a very overhanging crag about 5 miles up the canyon. This is home to the Clear Creek classic Sonic Youth one of the best pitches of 5.13 on the entire front range. Look into hitting this area in the late summer or early fall, the river is too strong in the spring and summer and covers the belay beach. Directions: The New River Wall is about 4.9 miles up canyon from the first tunnel, park in a large dirt pullout on the right hand side of the road before tunnel two. Walk along the road to the climbers tyrolean if it is set up, If it is set up then throw your harness on and slide your way over to the crag. If not your in for a slightly longer approach, Keep walking along the road until you reach the bridge, cross it and step over the guard rail. Take the climbers trail to the east over some talus, the first area you will encounter will be the Twitch Rock area, after that you will walk along the slightly sketchy cliff top to a grassy flat section, the trail will turn downhill from here and follows switchbacks all the way down to the New River Wall. The routes are ordered from left to right on this page.
