5 out of 5 stars On-sight Solo

Went light. two hours to Chasm Lake, six to summit, car to car in 11. Took hour nap on sunny rock at boulderfield on the descent.
Climbed lamb's slide around 6 am, and found it solid enough to front point the whole way. Brilliant alpine ice climb for 1000 ft. Found the step over move on Broadway to be psychological crux. Upper Kiener's was easy fifth class, and not worth the worry I had over it. For the exit moves from Upper Kiener's, I forewent the Diamond step over and climbed a steep crack system (5.5) thirty feet or so to summit slopes. Many varitations exist on this route, just stay far right once on upper Kieners.

A classic mixed route. easy, but way exposed rock moves in mountain boots near the top really get your attention.
