Description:
A nice route on the right side of the Pear. Look for the obvious black groove which marks the start of Fat-Bottomed Groove. This climb starts from the tree just to the left. P1) Climb the tree, then dike features past a bolt to the roof. Clip the pin in the roof, then a bolt just over the lip and grovel over (crux). Belay from some slings about 20 feet higher. P2) Traverse left to a nice seam, which becomes a left-facing dihedral (9+). Belay at a horizontal dike. P3) Wander up and right to hiking territory.

Ascent Note
A very enjoyable route. The moves getting to the crux overhang were deceptively difficult, but once clipped into the bolt at the crux, it goes fairly easily. The second pitch, up and left into a thin left facing dihedral was spectacular with continuous thin climbing for 50? feet. Climbed in June of 1986.
