About Black Lake:

Nestled in Glacier Gorge, Black lake offers a unique setting for a variety of difficulties in ice. With views of Arrowhead, and Longs Peak, one can enjoy these serene setting which is a little off the beaten path. A long approach awards the climber with steep WI5 to more moderate slabs at WI2-3. Be aware, descent can be difficult as there is little to no fixed protection on the climbs. Often times long walk-offs are required, so be sure to bring a headlamp.
