Description:
The Route can easily be done in 3 pitches. To find the start, locate Hallets Chimney between the 1st and 2d buttress. Look climbers left approx 50+' until you see the beautiful right facing dihedral on P1. Choose your start and ascend up to the dihedral. From the top of the Great Dihedral, you can continue on to the summit via The Standard Route, The Magistrate or several other options. If you are descending from the top of the great Dihedral, begin hiking climbers left until you reach the end of the ledge. There is a rap station there which consists of a sling and we backed it up with some cordalette. You may want to add another biner if you're anal. You can also down climb but it's very loose. You only need to do 1 rap and from there you can walk off down the gully and hook up with the trail to get you back to Emerald. The rock on this route is excellent. Few moves seemed harder than 5.7 but it's alpine so I guess that's to be expected.
