Description:

Pillar in the Sky Pond district (Glacier Gorge Trailhead) of RMNP that offers superior views and sketchy ascents from its tiny alpine summit. This is a three pitch route that accesses the gully between the Sharks Tooth and the Grepon. The easiest decent is to scramble up to the saddle between the Sharks Tooth and the Saber and climb down into "The Gash" do not forget your helmet. If you try to return to Sky Pond Scree and debris falls consistently down the trough, which is often utilized as a descent route. Backcountry permits are required to bivy in the Sky Pond district. No tents allowed, and the rules are definitely enforced. This is becoming a very popular alpine route in RMNP.
