Description:

P1 - 5.6 or 5.8, P2 - 5.4, P3 - 5.4, P4 - 5.5, P5- 5.0. My partner and I did this in 4 pitches by running each pitch out approximately a full 60m rope legnth. To find the route, cross the river and head to the ridgeline that dominates the climbers left skyline. The route consists of a series of slabs and cracks on solid granite. There were a few questionable holds on P2 and 3 but for the most part, the rock is excellent. To descend, after you make the 5.0 traverse, continue to hike to the end of the formation. Descend via the talus slope. EDIT: There are a few variations to start this route. The 5.6 variation (uphill / left of the 5.8) is actually very nice and pretty stout for the grade.

0 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

Have done this route twice, once with Chip in 2002 (one of my first multi-pitch routes in CO) then in 2003 with my wife. The first time we did the 5.8 variation, my wife and I did the 5.6. I thought the first long 5.6 pitch is as good as anything else I have done at that grade - better than say the first pitch of the First Flatiron.
