About Skinner Mountain:

From Pine Junction on 285 head south on CO 126 and pass through the town of Pine and the smaller vilalge of Buffalo Creek. Skinner Moutnain is 6 miles from Buffalo Creek adjacent to the Kelsey Campground. Park on the side of the road near the campground sign as the campground does not appear to be open. Skinner Mountain is the outcropping clearly visible from the campground. This formation gets sun all day and makes a nice destination during mild winter spells. In the 5 or 6 times I have climbed there I have yet to see another party. Information by User: kranney
Approach: From the entrance to the campground angle left past a water pump and continue through a dry creek bed. Look for cairns and begin to head left towards the crag. A well worn trail is visible if you follow the cairns and winds its way up to the base of the wall. Approach time: 15-20 min
