About Boulder City:
| Referred to as "Monte Vista's Boulder City" in Benningfield/Samet's Colorado Bouldering 2 guide. Yet another excellent San Luis Valley climbing area, with countless boulders scattered about a beautiful mountain pasture. The rock quality is subpar on many blocks, but there's still plenty to occupy the determined boulderer. |
| Nearest town or city: | Monte Vista |
| Directions: | From Monte Vista, follow CO 15 south until the pavement turns to gravel (approximately 12 miles from the junction of CO 15/US 160 in town). Turn right (west) on FR 250 and drive almost exactly 8 miles, thru a brief rhyolite canyon and past a National Forest sign, to an easy-to-miss dirt road (FR 2502 A) on the left. This road leads to the boulders .5 miles away and can be occasionally rough for 2WDs. |
