Description:

A short way right of Monarch, on the face, on good flakes to the roof. Traverse right on the horizontal crack, up to a small shelf, then out on a ledge to the fixed first pitch belay. Then, go a little up, and traverse back left to a gulley in the roof. Up and slightly right to where the bolt line begins, to the top. (Direct variation (11b) starts directly under the small shelf, and comes straight up.) Great exposure! Recommended!

5 out of 5 stars December

Very exposed with 40mph gusts. Great climbing. A definite classic and the FA is close to as bold as it gets. Reachy at one point on the second pitch. Great climb.

5 out of 5 stars great!

first 5.10 trad lead (onsight, no less). took a while to find good gear placements, but once there, went fine. once gear is wired, this is a great pitch. second pitch is exposed and fantastic! think about alan's bold first ascent for full effect.

Recommended. Gets toasty mid day and later in the warm months, so do it early or late
