North Falls Area
About North Falls Area:
Take the trail from the main parking area, along the creek, directly to the big slabby top of the falls. Rap anchors (no rings or biners or quicklinks) are available for setting up a rappel into the canyon. Otherwise follow the trail across the creek, and along the clifftop, south, until it crosses a creek (may be dry), to the first scramble down (3rd or 4th class) at the East Falls.
Or, stay on the trail as it veers right and up into the woods, and roughly follows the clifftop, all the way to a 2nd class gulley at the north end of the canyon, by Railroad Rock. Three climbs are listed that are right of the North Falls (as you're facing it), and the rest are to the left of the pond, listed as you follow the trail with the cliffline on your right. |
