About Thomas Hill Standpipe:
Free Bouldering. If you're looking for Sharma-tough routes, this isn't your spot. It's basically a great way to end or start the day at sunrise or set by climbing out some stress and keeping your forearms and footwork in shape. Locals climb here somewhat often. It's a buildering gem because it's mid-city, yet feels removed from it. You can see Big Chick Hill (see other maine climbs) and some of the other Clifton crags from the front of it. |
Nearest town or city: | Bangor |
Directions: | It's the highest point of elevation in Bangor, right off of Ohio street. At night, the top of it is lit up, looking like a crown. For that reason bangor is called the Queen City. |
