The Rampart
About The Rampart:
The Rampart is a good sport climbing area. The cliff is about 80 ft high and faces southeast. The sport routes here are not the best place for a beginner, as they start at 5.9 and go to 5.13a. However, there are several routes that can be safely led on gear, and topropes can easily be rigged on most of the cliff with a little ingenuity. |
Approach: | Off of RT-52 about a mile north of town is "The Old Carriage Road" trail. At the fork take the left trail and follow it across several streams. When the trail starts uphill look for a cairn. About 1 mile. |
