Currently being developed. A hanful of climbers frequented the area during the mid 90's, and a number of the routes recorded on the website were established. No record was made except for a few notes passed back and forth. It was also known that local climbing legend Mel Banks climbed at Northwest Branch during the 70's. This place is riddled with garbage so please pack out whenever possible. Semi-annual cleanups are organized by the grassroots environmental group "Neighbors of the Northwest Branch" www.neighborsnwb.org . Teddy Roosevelt was a fan of the area and wrote about scrambling over the boulders in his presidential journals. Come here often enough and you are bound to see: high school kids drinking, random naked homeless men bathing, and evidence of Santeria-style animal sacrifice. If you come during the week, particularly during warm weather, take care not to get jumped by roving gangbangers that like to hang out and party.
