About The Ledges:

Grand Ledge is the only natural vertical relief in the Lower Peninsula and only reaches a height of about 30 feet. The rock is Ionia sandstone and the soft quality of the rock does not allow for lead climbing. All routes are either top-ropes or boulder problems. As such, the atmosphere is very friendly and most people set a few climbs and leave their ropes there, allowing others to use them (Please ask before you do so). This allows more climb time and less anchor setups. (DrTopo.com)
