Description:

Go through the old railroad tunnel then bushwack following the eastern bluff line (bluff that faces the St.Louis river bay and West Duluth). The bluff line starts with extremely moderate cliff will eventually give way to more steep and longer faces. You are looking for an ominous overhanging dihedral with a finger crack in it's corner...it has a tree growing near it's base and near the left facing side of dihedral. It is a high angle dehedral...it forms a corner that is greater than 90 degrees...I would guess 110 degrees (and makes it difficult). There is a extremely smooth ledge half way up the left face of the dihedral (very, very hard to use...sloping and smooth). It maybe accessed more easily from top of bluff from the Superior Hiking Trail, however it is difficult to find unless you know what you're looking for (no real landmarks on top to pinpoint). In terms of top-rope set up: keep following bluff line further away from tunnel and pick your way up the slope...I slung a tree 30 ft from clif edge and found to good nut placements...however I'm sure over pro in probably under dirt...with some cleaning will become available. Rapping is pretty tough but doable, but includes doing a gnarly hang off the achor....try not to tangle your rope in the tree either. This climb is still in it's infant stages, and is being cleaned...however it is climb-able and naturally not lichen infested (thought some is there). It has been attempted thus far and has proven challenging...current rating listed is tenative...but is definitely is at least 5.11 quality. This description will continue to be updated as climb is further clean and climbed
