From the intersection of Highway 84 and Montana State Highway 287 (the town of Norris exists here) find the dirt road that goes west. If travelling from Bozeman, you'd continue straight once you hit Norris. Follow this dirt road for several miles, past an obvious left turn, past an obvious, always open, cattle gate, then up a switch back. Shortly after the switch back, you'll see a small rock on your left a few yards off the road. Shortly after that take a left on a "jeep trail" that travels back to the east. This road will drop down into a gully, switchback, and go up the other side of the gully. Shortly after driving out of the gully, you will see the Nuggets on your right. Park anywhere and begin climbing! If you have doubts about your car being able to make it, park just before you enter the gully, as that is the worst section of road. The walk will be about 5 minutes. |
