Description:
This is an exceptional line that is comprised of good rock with decent pro. A solid step up from Frogland and an excellent option if Frogland is packed to the gills. {Note: Check the Photos section above for the Topo for this route} Start 25' left of Frogland in a corner (finger crack) just past the little step across on the ledge system at the base of Frogland. Pitch 1: Work up the crack, then step right into the left facing corner. Head up to the first belay of Frogland. 120', 5.7 Pitch 2: Start as per the 2nd pitch of Frogland, but as you work left up the ramp, when you come to the perfect crack heading straight up- take it. This crack heads up and then ends after a striking finger section. Move right to another crack and follow this to a cozy belay ledge. 120', 5.8+ Pitch 3: Head up the slot and through some bushes, and then head straight up the easy face above to a stance just below a small roof at the base of a buttress. 160', 5.5 Pitch 4: Move up and right, and then step back left over the roof, being mindful of the rock quality. From here, move up and left over another bulge onto an easy slab. Follow this to another ledge system to belay. 60', 5.8 Pitch 5: From here, step left to a short finger crack and then head up the face, placing gear when available to a ramp. Head up and left on the ramp to a nice ledge. 170', 5.7 Pitch 6: Look left to a crackless corner with a small roof. This is the pitch. Head up the face left of the corner, placing good gear that is available. A few moves above the roof is a huge ledge that is a good belay spot. 40', 5.7 Pitch 7: One move on the arete to your right takes you onto easy terrain to the summit. 30', 5.4. Descent: See Frogland. Bourbon Street
2nd pitch pretty good stuff...we just tied back into Frogland after that so we could get those 2 5.8's in. That is the best way to use these two routes, first two of Bourbon, last three of Frogland, a traverse link in between...the Drunken Frog!
