Description: So, you've spent some time in Red Rocks trad cragging, practicing getting your onsight level up another notch or two and have pretty much exhausted the Moderate Mecca area. Now is the time for you to come to Brass Wall. Brass Wall is a sunny, south facing cliff with a wide selection of routes ranging from 5.6 to scary 5.10. It also offers a couple of moderate multipitch routes to practice on.
Approach: Recently, a wonderful group of folks went up and did some major trail renovations for the approach to Brass Wall. The trail is now absolutely perfect and my thanks go to them for all of their effort. Head into Pine Creek on the main trail. A ways after the homestead, on your right hand side, you'll see a well-marked trail heading uphill toward the cliff-band. Follow this supremely well marked trail up and toward the Straight Shooter wall. About 50 yards before Straight Shooter, a cairn marks a side trail that heads west towards Mescalito. Take this trail and in about 5 minutes, you'll be at the Brass Wall.
Beta/Updates: Rap Station Updates: As of 4.08.05, the rappel station for Bush Pilots has been cleaned up somewhat but could still use some attention- if you have 10' of webbing, please take some time if you climb this route. Also, at the top of Heavy Spider Karma there was a slung rap station of extremely dubious quality- it was removed by myself (vegastradguy) due to the fact that there was a bolted rap station 10' up and right of it that allowed for a 30m rappel to the ground.
