About Challenger Wall:
High on the south side of Pine Creek Canyon lurks the Challenger Wall. Unrelentingly steep, beautiful, and absolutely enormous, this wall is one of the longest continuous walls in Red Rock.
Approach Approach by heading into Pine Creek and up the south fork of the canyon. When the canyon forks again, work your way up the left fork for a short distance until you come to a pair of large boulders blocking the stream. From here, head up in between them and turn left (look for the cairn). Gain the left wall and work your way up and left- you'll arrive at the first part of the wall relatively soon. This approach also eventually leads to the Jet Stream Wall.
|Approach:||Walk the trail into Pine Creek Canyon heading towards the Mescalito. When the trail forks head left into the wash. Stay in the wash passing the left hand side of the Mescalito (Cat in the Hat). Do not attempt to take any trails that might parallel the wash, its much easier and quicker to stay in the wash. Follow the wash for some time until you will notice an obvious boulder full of huecos with rocks in them. Past this begin looking up and left for Adventure Punks Area. Small trail and bushwacking will lead up some slabs to the base of Adventure Punks Area. Continue up and left for another 10-15minutes until you enter the Challenger Wall area. The first climb you will walk past will be X-15.|
