About Southern Outcrops:
Home to two major crags, the Illusion Crag and Chocolate Rocks area doesnt see too much traffic, despite its close proximity to a major highway. The main Red Rocks area seems to eclipse this fine trad area just off Highway 160.
Access: These crags are just off the highway, making the accessible at all times. Do not camp, however, because the rangers will find you and cite you. When to climb: These crags are mostly east and south facing, making them good climbing in cooler weather. Classics: Arm Forces The Illusion Crags (& Chocolate Rocks) are a remote area of quality climbs. Sitting just south of the mouth to Windy Canyon on the east face of the mountain, these (supposedly high quality) short routes dont see much traffic.
