5 out of 5 stars the time had come

I had watched people work this problem for years, seeing as the warm up boulders are always a good place to start the day at blair. I had looked at it, hung on it a bit, but always thought it was way over my head. Finally last fall I decided to try the problem. My moves took me straight up the face, while most people go up the arret, but I never did stick the lip I left it to sit the winter still thinking the problem, just wast for me. The weather this weekend has been the most ideal for newengland and the pway boulderer in me, reawaken after a long winter, was ready to grip some rock. Saturday came and I decided to jump on the old beast with no expectations. Alas to my surprise I suddenly could do the top and the arret seemed more plausible than the face. I slept on it .. my heart knew the time had come to give up the notion of impossibility. I came back the next day got on too many problems (not that there is such a thing) my fingers were raw already from two days of climbing the sun was starting to lower, leaving the abnormally warm temperatures behind, as I came back to my problem I expected no more than to just feel some of the holds. But feeling the start my body was more ready than my mind and so I let myself feel the movement, trust the rock, and go. Mantling up the sloppy top out I couldn't help but let a sound of glee. I crossed over and sat atop the boulder I had sat on so many times in the last several years, soaking in the last of the sun I looked at it knowing that i had just opened up a new door of possibility. I love rock climbing!
