About Watchung Reservation:

Two cliffs, both 20-30 feet high and 150-200 feet long, overlook Diamond Hill Road at the far West end of the Watchung Reservation. This is an excellent Toproping and Bouldering area. The routes are mostly strenuous, veretical face climbs in the 5.8-5.11 range. Somewhat slippery from overuse on the lower parts of the walls. "Triple Overhangs" (5.10d), in the center of the upper cliff, is a classic by any standards. The overhanging upper cliff is often dry in damp weather.
Nearest town or city: Mountainside
Directions: Exit 43 off of I-78. Parking lot by Seeley's Pond, which is the best access to the cliffs, is at the intersection of Diamond Hill Road and Valley Road. If you enter the crag from Diamond Hill Road you have to ford a small creek which is about 10' wide and 5 inches deep.
Latitude, Longitude: 40.40000, -74.24000
Access Issues: Climbing is now prohibited by the county and since it's easy to see the cliff from the road, it's easy for them to enforce. I have heard of gear being confiscated.
Camping: None
When to Climb: Summer
Quantity of Climbs: Month
