About Camp Tamarack:

Old Boy Scout Camp abandoned and now part of Ramapo State Forest in western Bergen Ct.. Many abandoned, rundown, or demolished camp buildings still present. Some scattered rock line the old camp road (which requires walking in front of a private residence). "Entry boulder" stands obviously on the right a few hundred feet after the private residence. A face on the other side of the road from entry boulder has some easy climbs. Continue down the camp road to scattered boulders and outcrops all ranging from 5 to 25 feet high.
Nearest town or city: Oakland, NJ
Directions: Follow Route 287 North/South to Exit 57 (I believe) for Skyline Dr. Follow Skyline Dr. North for less than a few miles until you see the Camp Tamarack sign on the northbound side of the road. Park across the street and follow the camp road in about a half a mile.
Latitude, Longitude: 41.05063, -74.24666
Access Issues: This is Jersey, be smart. Small groups, be quiet and respect the private residence on the way in. There is litter and broken glass everywhere. Pack out your trash and clean up around the rock.
