About Wallpack Center:

Walpack is a town that was abandoned in the 60's when the government bought it. They bought many small towns near the Delaware Water Gap and kicked everyone out because they were planning to create a new reservoir. Well, it never happened, so Walpack's just been sitting there. The town is very tiny, with maybe 7 or 8 buildings, all of which are the same eerie shade of white. There's a church, town hall, gas station, post office, and a few houses. One building serves as a museum during the warmer months, and another seems to be some sort of park office. There is a cemetary as well with graves dating back to the 1800's.
Nearest town or city: Bevans, NJ
Directions: From Interstate 80, take the last exit in NJ, Old Mine Road. It's right before the bridge. Follow the road for 15-20 miles. Turn right onto Pompey Road and go another 10 miles or so. Walpack center will be on your right. From Route 206 North, turn left onto CR-560 / DINGMANS RD. Then turn left onto ENNIS RD / CR-615. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto CR-615 / KUHN RD. Continue to follow CR-615. Finally, turn right onto SANDYSTON-FLATBROOKVILLE RD / CR-615. Walpack Center Entrace will be on your left. Drive through town and over the steel bridge. When you see the cemetary, make a right at the fork in the road. Follow this road for 3-4 miles. The falls will be on your left.

Access Issues: Make sure you have a 1/2 tank of gas. These roads are long and there are no gas stations in these areas. Road may not be plowed in the winter. Walpack Center is part of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, but they do not advertise this part of the area in their booklets, thus allowing the falls to be a well kept secret to most. Closest camping is at Stokes State Park.
