About Gemstone Area:

A great area in the lower Sandias. In contrast to the orange blocky granite of the upper Sandias, this is the white water polished stuff. Tuolomne-esque! Approach from the La Cueva picnic area. The Gemstone slabs face north, though the Flake-n-Bake slabs face south
