About Brazos Cliffs:

Brazos Cliffs are on Private Land; the Los Alamos Mountaineers previously had exclusive permission from the landowner to climb on the Cliffs, but this is no longer the case. Brazos Cliffs is classed as a sensitive access area and loners up there could mess up years of work by this group. The owner could at any time simply put up no trespass signs discontinue dialog with anyone and lock this area out forever.
Nearest town or city: Chama
Directions: In between Chama NM and the town of Brazos is a private road that heads East with the sign Corkins Lodge and another that says Brazos Lodge. Turn East here and go for a few miles. you will see the cliffs on the right side, they are kind of hard to hide. They are fishing lodges at the base that have customers year round, and each have live in management. Both lodges will tell you that access to the cliffs is forbidden and I swear they have nothing to do but fish and catch climbers and report license plates to authorities if they think something is supicious. You can rent a lodge for a fee. Preplan, contact the L.A. Mountaineers to meet you so you can climb this area so we can keep this area open.
