About Dead Cholla Wall:
| This wall is on the east side of the lower Rio Grande Gorge. It is mostly Basalt with sport climbs going 60' high. A local guide can be purchased at the local climbing store in Taos. There is a minimum of 24 routes here and probably more by now. You can camp at the rim if you are a minimum impact camper. Other camping sites are the Orilla Verde campsite on a first come first served system for a fee, but it fills fast in the summer. They do not take reservations. Nearby on the east side is the Carson National forest and camping is available there. |

| Directions: | I understand that there is a road closure on 570 due to rock fall at GPS coord: 36.3377N x 105.7268W. People can get through on Hwy 84 by driving 10 miles south to Pilar and then heading North. I need to see if the Highway department has cleared the rock fall and open the roads. |
