About Johns wall:

Has around twenty routes and is an awesome sport area. John's Wall is about 7 miles North of Taos. Take hwy 64 to Arroyo Hondo and find the road that turns West on the North side of the Hondo River (the river may be dry here and not very easy to see, look for the line of trees and gully, turn left immediately after you cross the small bridge, there are no signs indicating the river or the the road name/number). Follow the road for 2 miles as it turns to gravel and eventually descends into the canyon. There are several forks in the road, just take the one that keeps you following the canyon. The wall will be obvious on your right side, with the parking area just after you cross a bridge over the Hondo. The climbs are 30 feet from your car! This fun little wall could use some more traffic. Many of the pocket holds were full of sand.
