Feels more like a 5.13 route developer doesn't know how to rate a moderate route. It could just be the long driving to get here, the lack of eating a lunch and not getting warmed up in the cool Nov shade. Oh well. Very enjoyable climbing thought pockets, side pulls, underclings and few crimps thrown in there, too. It made me work as hard as many 5.11a onsights to get this one. No big cruxes, just sustained pumpiness.
Wounded Knee must be considered for one of the best 5.10a 's in the state of New Mexico. Throw through some intro moves up to a nice rest. Followed by the crux moves of the vicious overhanging section into another nice rest. Top it off with a nice undercling section and some good friction moves to the chains. 60 feet of glory in the best summer sp
