Fun bouldering on supersharp mostly pocketed rock. Most of the high quality problems are on the upper end of the scale, but the place can also be fun for beginners. Decents from many of the boulders can be spicey and often require jumping to a stack of pads. More then anything, City of Rocks is a cool and surreal place. While not really worth a trip in and of itself from far away, if you're in the area (i.e.; you were just at or are going to Hueco), then you might want to check it out. There is a nice commercial hot spring near the park, where you can camp for $10 a night and use the springs all night. Full moons at the City of Rocks are like a lunar landscape.
